谢尔盖·奥列宁

I am a marine biologist with extensive experience in marine expeditions (from the last millennium to the present) in the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic oceans, in the Baltic, White, Black, Adriatic and other seas, including underwater (SCUBA diving) research. My research covers biological invasions in the aquatic environment, especially the processes of transfer and adaptation of species to new environmental conditions, their role in new ecosystems, assessment of impacts on the marine environment, classification and mapping of benthic biotopes and communities. At Klapėda and other European universities I taught 'Hydrobiology', 'Invasion Biology', 'Ecology of marine landscapes and habitats', 'Methodology of Scientific Work' for undergraduate, MSc and PhD students.
