Professional with a broad academic and professional background, combining scientific excellence and management expertise. He holds a PhD in Ecology from the University of Campinas (Unicamp) and an MBA in Management, with an emphasis on Leadership and Innovation, from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). Over the past 20 years, he has published over 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles, which have accumulated over 15,000 citations, and elected a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. In 2019, he transitioned into the nonprofit sector, serving as an executive in organizations dedicated to biodiversity conservation, climate change, and sustainability. He has extensive experience in fundraising, including implementing projects with multilateral agencies such as the GEF, IKI, IDB, NORAD, and DEFRA, as well as building strategic partnerships across government, the private sector, and academia. He serves on the board of different organisations, contributing to governance, strategic planning, and the measurement of socio-environmental impact.
