I am a Research Professor of Public Health at McPherson University, Nigeria, and the Chief Executive Officer/Director of Programme of the Blue Gate Public Health Promotion Initiative. I also coordinate the Translating Research Evidence into Policy and Practice (TREPP) Project, a multidisciplinary initiative of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Oyo State Ministry of Health, and Blue Gate Research Institute that strengthens the use of scientific evidence in policymaking and public health programming. My work focuses on generating high-quality evidence and translating research into policies and interventions that improve population health and promote sustainable development.
My research interests include implementation science, health policy and systems research, policy research, epidemiology, monitoring and evaluation, environmental health and toxicology, climate change and health, infectious diseases, malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, antimicrobial resistance, maternal, newborn and child health, sexual and reproductive health, digital health, gender equality, and evidence-informed policymaking. I have extensive expertise in mixed-methods research, implementation research, qualitative inquiry, programme evaluation, health systems strengthening, knowledge translation, and stakeholder engagement.
Over the past 15 years, I have led multidisciplinary research and evaluation projects funded by international development partners, including USAID, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, UNITAID, the International Labour Organization, Chemonics International, Malaria Consortium, Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), Girl Effect, and Jhpiego. My work has informed policy decisions, strengthened health programmes, and improved implementation strategies across Nigeria.
I have authored and co-authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and presented my research at international scientific conferences across Africa, Europe, North America, and Asia. My current work seeks to bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice through interdisciplinary collaboration, implementation science, and innovative approaches that advance health equity, strengthen health systems, and improve population health outcomes.
