Professor Zhong Jin's research experience ranges from clean energy science to novel materials, especially the multidisciplinary research for clean energy applications. His interests cover a broad area of materials science disciplines, especially organic and inorganic electrode and electrolyte materials, such as the controlled synthesis of 1D nanotubes/nanowires, 2D nanomaterials and 3D nanostructures. He conducted efforts on incorporating nanomaterials into electrochemical clean-energy systems, nanoelectronics and photoelectric devices. He also designed new chemical and phisical approaches for the preparation and modification of novel carbon species, such as carbon nanotubes, graphene and porous carbons. He also developed various methods for the controlled growth, structural engineering and device fabrication of novel 2D materials.
