Dr. Zafar Said is a Distinguished Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at United Arab Emirates University. His research focuses on solar energy, thermofluids, nanofluids, nano-enhanced phase change materials, and energy systems, contributing to SDGs 7, 9, 11, and 13 in clean energy, innovation, sustainable cities, and climate action. He has authored numerous high-impact publications, including books, book chapters, and conference papers, and holds 6 US and 2 Indian patents, with several of his works recognized as highly cited in Web of Science. A recognized leader in his field, he has been ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists (2019–2025) by Elsevier & Stanford University. His contributions have earned him multiple prestigious awards, including Best Academic Research at the 13th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (2024), First Place in Scientific Research at the Excellence and Creative Engineering Award (2023) by the Society of Engineers, UAE, and the Research and Innovation Award from the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (2022, 2023).
