Prof. Yasser Bustanji has been working as a faculty member and a principal research investigator in the Faculty of Pharmacy/ University of Jordan since 2002. He is currently the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy/ University of Jordan. Prof. Bustanji was the Chairman of the department of Biopharmaceutics and Clinical Pharmacy prior to his current position.
Prof. Bustanji has published more than 60 genuine research articles at a plethora of esteemed peer-reviewed international journals and has coordinated and participated in a vast number of conferences and workshops. He has supervised more than 40 master and Ph.D theses. His research interests include two lines of research: The identification and testing of new compounds and medicinal plants as inhibitors for target enzymes with potential for development as new pharmaceutical drugs. The other line of research focuses on the development and in vitro / in vivo models of drug delivery platforms for the management of major chronic diseases, evaluation of acute and chronic toxicities of compounds, formulations/extracts and the evaluation of biological activities and potencies of a wealth of biological products.
Dr. Bustanji was a member of the bioequivalence and biowaiver committee, Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) and a consultant to the Jordan Food and Drug Administration GMP Inspection teams. Professor Bustanji has an extensive record of running trouble-shooting projects for many pharmaceutical industrial companies and has been designated a “Distinguished Researcher of the Year” three years in a row 2009-2011. In addition to Ali Mango award "Distinguished Researcher" for the year 2014
