简介

Wee-Jun ONG received his Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honours) from Monash University in 2012. He was the recipient of Best Graduate Award of Bachelor of Engineering in the discipline of Chemical Engineering in 2012 and Endeavour Research Fellow in Australia in 2015. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from Monash University in 2016. He was awarded with Mollie Holman Doctorate Award 2016 for the outstanding Ph.D. candidate and thesis from Monash University. In 2017, he was the winner for “Young Chemical Engineer in Research Award” (IChemE Singapore) and also he received a Highly Commended award for “Young Chemical Engineer in Research Award” (IChemE Global). He is an early career researcher who is active in the areas of advanced materials, catalysis, nanotechnology and reaction engineering. His current research interests primarily focus on the design and synthesis of two-dimensional (2D)-based (graphene, g-C3N4, transition metal dichalcogenides, etc.) nanomaterials for renewable energy and environmental protection applications via photocatalysis, photoelectrocatalysis and electrocatalysis. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for RSC, ACS, Wiley, NPG, Elsevier publishing groups, including Energy & Environmental Science, Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, ACS Nano, Small, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Chemical Communications, Nanoscale, Journal of Materials Chemistry A/B/C, Catalysis Science & Technology, Dalton Transactions, Applied Catalysis A/B, Carbon, Journal of Hazardous Materials, etc. Up to now, his total citations are >3000 with h-index of 24 (As of June 2018). To date, he is the Associate Editor of Frontiers in Materials, Associate Editor of Frontiers in Chemistry, the Editorial Board Member of Scientific Reports, Nanotechnology and Nano Futures, and also the Community Board Member of Materials Horizons.
