Taher M. Ghazal

Dr. Taher M. Ghazal is an IEEE Senior Member and an accomplished academic and research leader with more than 15 years of experience in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, biomedical information processing, IoT security, blockchain-enabled trust, and analytics-driven decision support. He currently serves as a Principal Research Scientist and Associate Professor, advancing applied research focused on secure, intelligent, and resilient cyber-physical and healthcare information systems. He earned a BSc in Software Engineering from Al Ain University (2011), an MSc in Information Technology Management from The British University in Dubai (2013), in association with The University of Manchester and The University of Edinburgh, and a PhD in Information Science and Technology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (2023). He completed two postdoctoral fellowships in cybersecurity at Khalifa University of Science and Technology (Center for Cyber Physical Systems, 2024) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (Center for Cyber Security, 2025–2026). Dr. Ghazal has authored more than 220+ peer-reviewed publications, an H-Index of 56 in Scopus, with strong scholarly impact and has been recognized among the world’s Top 2% Scientists for three consecutive years (2023–2025). His research focuses on trustworthy AI, intelligent biomedical information processing, secure healthcare systems, federated learning, explainable AI, and resilient data-driven architectures that bridge academia and industry.
