Steven L. Salzberg

I am the Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, and Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University, where I’m also Director of the Center for Computational Biology. My lab’s research focuses on the development of new computational methods for analysis of DNA and RNA from the latest sequencing technologies. Over the years we have worked on problems in gene finding, genome and transcriptome assembly, microbial genomics, metagenomics, and sequencing technology itself. My current work emphasizes analysis of DNA and RNA sequenced with next-generation technology.
