Shamsuddin Shahid

Dr. Shamsuddin Shahid is currently serving as the Director of the Drought Division at the Regional Climate Change Center, National Center for Meteorology (NCM), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Before this, he was a professor of civil engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Dr. Shahid’s research focuses on climate variability and change, hydrological impacts of climate change, water resource management, and the vulnerability and risk assessment of natural hazards. His interdisciplinary expertise bridges climate science and engineering applications, with a strong emphasis on adaptation and resilience strategies in arid and semi-arid regions.
