Samuel O Idowu, PhD is Professor of Accounting and Sustainability at Guildhall School of Business & Law, London Metropolitan University, UK. He researches in the fields of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Sustainability Corporate Governance, Business Ethics and Accounting and has published in both professional and academic journals since 1989. Samuel is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Corporate Governance Institute, a research network of scholars in CSR, Sustainability, Ethics and Governance based in more than 40 countries worldwide. He is the Editor-in-Chief of three Springer’s reference books – the Encyclopaedia of Corporate Social Responsibility (2013), the Dictionary of Corporate Social Responsibility (2015) and the Encyclopaedia of Sustainable Management (2023), he was an Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Corporate Social Responsibility (IJCSR) (2016-2024) Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Sustainable Business (JSB) (2025 to date) and Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Economics and Business Administration (AJEBA). He is also a Series Editor for Springer’s books on CSR, Sustainability, Ethics and Governance and Research Series on Responsible Enterprise Ecosystems. One of his edited books won the most Outstanding Business Reference book Award of the American Library Association (ALA) in 2016 and has won several CSR Awards globally. He has examined PhD Theses for a few UK and non-UK Universities from across the globe – South Africa, Australia, The Netherlands and New Zealand. In 2018 he won a CSR Leadership Award in Cologne, Germany and in 2019 he won the 101 Most Impactful CSR Leaders Award in Mumbai, India.
