简介

Dr. Rodrigo Ramirez-Campillo research interest is on sport and exercise sciences, particularly on low-cost logistically-sound exercise modes to help large population segments to sustain healthy lifestyles, reduce morbimortality risk, restore and/or improve human performance. His current project is titled “Jump toward better health and performance”. The main goal is to understand the acute and long-term adaptive responses (e.g. physiological, biomechanical) to different types of jump training exercises, in different population segments (e.g. pediatric; adult; geriatric), using a modeling approach through different programming configurations (e.g. intensity; repetitions; type of jump exercise). He obtained research grants for ~250.000 USD, in projects aimed to contribute solving problems such as sub-optimal athletic performance and injury-rehabilitation. Dr. Ramirez-Campillo published >500 peer-review articles (WOS), with >20.000 citations (h index = 73; Google Scholar), and is the only Spanish-speaking researcher from Latin American countries included among the world 2% most-cited researchers in sport sciences (Stanford list). Additionally, Dr. Ramirez-Campillo is listed among the 0.00095% most-productive researchers in his country (Chile, ANID, Dataciencia). Dr. Ramirez-Campillo has guided national and international doctoral, master, and undergraduate students, and permanently act as consultant for sport-related clubs and athletes, academic groups at national-international Universities, and government-related agencies. Dr. Ramirez-Campillo enjoy practicing recreative resistance training.
