United Kingdom, 2004); M.S. in Food Science and Technology (Autonomous University of Queretaro); Biochemical Engineer (Morelia Institute of Technology, Mexico, 1995); Associated Professor of Monterrey Tech and Chair of Environmental Bioprocess; He has more than 35 articles in Scientific journals and 376 research references have his scientific work. He has 8 patents and 3 book chapters. He belongs to the National Research System (SN1) and was a repatriate researcher by CONACyT in 2008. He has given more than 50 courses of undergraduate and graduate in the department of Chemical Engineer. He is a project reviewer for CONACyT and Water Research. He has started the incubation of two companies (Algae Technology Solutions (ALTESO) and Enzymatic Strategies). PhD Parra has worked as Researcher at the department of Bio-sciences at University of Westminster in United Kingdom. Project manager and Project Engineer for ECOLAB. He has done research works for various industries such as Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline y Nestle. He also has been speaker invited by many groups such as Edmonton Waste Management Centre of Excellence in Canada and currently he has research projects with various International and National centers. Currently he is collaborating with LLN University in Belgium to develop Nano-separation enzyme systems. PhD Parra participated in two projects of the European community in programs FP6 and FP7; SOPHIED, novel sustainable bioprocess for European color industries and COROADO, Technologies for Water Recycling and Reuse in Latin American Context: Assessment, Decision Tools and Implementable Strategies under an Uncertain Future. Another important project in which he has taken part is the design of a new solar process of bioethanol production from residual water of Coca-Cola FEMSA. Dr. Parra participates in many national and international research networks such as ECOred, Nitropal y EUROClima.
