For the last 20 years, I have focused my research on 4 inter-related areas. Briefly, these areas include: a. Clinical and genetic epidemiology of congestive heart failure (CHF), including asymptomatic LV systolic and diastolic dysfunction. b. Clinical and genetic epidemiology of population-based vascular testing and echocardiography, including cardiac structure and function, brachial artery endothelial function, , and tonometric assessment of large artery function. c. Clinical and genetic epidemiology of cardiovascular risk factors, including high blood pressure, including characterizing the lifetime risk, rates of progression and risks associated with various degrees of elevation of CVD risk factors; large artery stiffness and function and role in systolic hypertension in the elderly; genetics of hypertension and large artery function. d. Clinical and genetic epidemiology of exercise test responses in asymptomatic individuals and prognostic information.
