简介

Graduated in Physics, with extensive experience in detector systems for medical physics and high-energy physics at CERN (Geneva, CH), I subsequently specialized in marine robotics, with a focus on advanced sensor integration and environmental perception for autonomous platforms. I hold a PhD in Earth and Marine Sciences (EMAS) from the University of Ferrara. Currently, at the Italian National Research Council (CNR), my research is centered on the development and deployment of sensing technologies for autonomous marine and aerial vehicles, particularly in the acquisition and analysis of acoustic and optical data for seabed characterization. My work initially focused on mapping and monitoring Posidonia oceanica meadows, a key indicator of coastal ecosystem health. Over the years, I have extended my research to include the study of extreme environments, with a focus on the Arctic region (Svalbard), participating in multiple field campaigns using autonomous systems. I contribute to the processing and interpretation of data collected in complex marine and polar contexts, aimed at long-term environmental monitoring. My current interests include the standardization of methodologies for marine environmental observation using autonomous robotic platforms, with an emphasis on the implementation of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data principles to foster transparency, reproducibility, and open science in oceanographic research.
