I am an environmental social scientist specializing in equitable governance of fisheries, oceans, and coasts. My current role as co-Director of 'Turning Tides,' an international value-led giving facility, focuses on enhancing tenure security and rights recognition of local communities, small-scale fishers, and Indigenous Peoples. While I have shifted away from primary research, my focus remains on promoting diversity in knowledge and knowledge providers shaping environmental governance policies, funding, and practices. My research has primarily focused on revealing power dynamics influencing oceans and coasts, and their impact on societal and environmental well-being. I have conducted extensive applied research in partnership with local communities, civil society, and governments, accross Africa, Asia, and particularly the Pacific.
