Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine, Professor of Public Health (Global Health, Epidemiology) in the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, and Director of Epidemiology and Genomic Medicine at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. He was graduated with a B.S. from Yale University in 1970 and received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio in 1974. His postgraduate training Internal Medicine and Endocrinology took place at Duke Medical Center. He worked for the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute from 1978-1999 and was Director of Laboratories at the Framingham Heart Study from 1983 to 2003. Prior to joining the faculty at Emory in 2006 he was Professor of Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine (1999-2003) and at the Medical University of South Carolina (2003-2006). He is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology. Dr. Wilson is an author or coauthor of more than 700 scientific articles and four books.
