Prof. Norberto Peporine Lopes obtained a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Pharmacy and a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of São Paulo. At present, he is Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of São Paulo in Ribeirão Preto, Member of the Brazilian Academy of Science and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry Currently. He is Past-President of the Brazilian Chemical Society, and board council member of the Brazilian Society of Mass Spectrometry. His research deals with organic chemistry, with emphasis on natural products chemistry and mass spectrometry. In this field has authored over than 480 research articles and present 180 conferences at scientific meetings. Dr. Lopes has received several awards, with emphasis on The Jeremy Knowles Award from RSC and Fernando Galembeck for Innovation from SBQ. NPL serves on Editorial Board of the journals Scientific Reports, Planta Medica, Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry and ACS-Omega, Chemical Society Reviews - RSC.
