简介

Neville is a Distinguished Professor with the School of Health Sciences at Swinburne University of Technology and a Senior Scientist in the Physical Activity Laboratory at the Baker Heart & Diabetes Institute in Melbourne, Australia. His epidemiological studies link urban-environment attributes, physical inactivity and sitting with the development of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and major cancers. His experimental studies examine impacts of changing sedentary behaviours on underlying biology. His findings and theory development have led the field of sedentary behaviour and health internationally, with his original evidence and that of his collaborators providing the impetus for the new World Health Organisation (2020) Guidelines on Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour.
