My research interests are focused on the overlapping areas of surface hydrology, remote sensing, and climate change. Current research projects broadly cover understanding (a) multi-scale watershed hydrologic processes (b) variability in surface water storage using multi-source satellite data (c) climate and human impacts on water resources availability, and (d) water availability and use analysis across scales.
More specifically, it includes remote sensing hydrology, hydrological modeling of water levels in surface water bodies; Ecohydrology; Runoff and Evapotranspiration modeling (energy and water balance approaches); GRACE Terrestrial Water Storage analysis; Use of SMAP soil moisture data for drought monitoring; Hydro-climatology; Land surface and watershed hydrology; Stochastic hydrology; Terrain analysis; topo-bathymetric data integration; Uncertainty in remote sensing datasets used in hydrologic modeling studies; Assessment of climate change and human impact on surface hydrology using multi-source satellite data; Geographic Information Systems; geospatial data analysis; spatial data modeling; big data processing; Python and R programming.
