Dr. Mosaad Attia Abdel-Wahhab is a professor in the Food Toxicology and Contaminants Department at the National Research Center, bringing over 39 years of academic and research expertise. He obtained his BSc in Agricultural Sciences and MSc in Animal Physiology from Ain Shams University, followed by a PhD in Toxicology from Ain Shams University and Texas A&M University, USA. In 2016, he established the Egyptian Society for Sciences and Halal Products, where he currently serves as the elected president. He has served as a visiting professor at several universities in various countries. His research concentrates on toxicology and food safety. Dr. Abdel-Wahhab has led and participated in over 22 nationally and internationally funded projects covering food safety, contaminants, nanotechnology, natural products, and pharmacology. He has published more than 201 articles in international scientific journals, presented 28 papers at global conferences, and contributed 37 papers to local journals. He has also authored five book chapters published by major international publishers such as Elsevier and Springer and supervised 50 master's and PhD theses. He has been a keynote speaker at over 80 international conferences and regularly conducts biannual training courses on mycotoxins and food safety. Dr. Abdel-Wahhab was instrumental in founding Egypt’s first Department of Food Toxicology and Contaminants and established the country’s first ozone treatment laboratory for safe food contaminant processing. He serves as a reviewer for over 200 international journals and as an associate editor for 20 journals. His distinguished honors include the State Appreciation Award for Advanced Technological Sciences (2019) and the UNESCO Equatorial Guinea International Prize (2022), awarded for his significant contributions to life sciences and enhancing human quality of life. Additionally, he provides consulting services to judicial and industrial organizations domestically and internationally and holds key memberships in various global professional bodies.
