In 2002, MA was promoted to full Professor at TUMS, becoming one of the youngest scholars to attain this rank. From 1997 to 1999, he co-founded and directed the Tehran Drug and Poison Information Center (DPIC). He chaired the Department of Toxicology and Pharmacology at TUMS from 2005 to 2016 and served as director of the National Toxicology Board of the Ministry of Health for 12 years. MA also served as president of the Iranian Society of Toxicology and Poisoning for a decade. He is a member of several prestigious scientific organizations, including EUROTOX, ASPET, AACT, IFIA, and SOT. MA has achieved broad international recognition, publishing over 1,000 scientific papers and more than 300 book chapters. His work has received approximately 90,000 citations on Google Scholar, with an H-index exceeding 140. He has been repeatedly ranked among the world's most influential scientists by Clarivate and Stanford University indicators and has been recognized as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher. His innovations have led to patents in Europe and the United States and have received international invention awards. His research focuses on mechanistic toxicology and pharmacology, particularly disease models, environmental toxicants, biomarkers, and gene–environment interactions in the context of climate change. Through his studies, he has identified more than 110 chemicals, 150 genes, 50 diseases, and 96 phenotypes across 60 anatomical terms. Since 2017, MA has been consistently recognized among the world's leading scientists and regarded by Clarivate as a Nobel-class influencing scientist. In 2024, he received the Alborz Prize (Nobel-Class Category), the highest and most prestigious scientific distinction awarded nationally in Iran.
