My research focuses on the following fields:
I. Targeting tumor metabolism/survival pathways to enhance tumor chemosensitivity and/or radiosensitivity.
II. Developing novel strategies to overcome tumor metastasis: i). Novel sequencing and microarray-based gene discovery associated with tumor metastasis, ii). Viral or pharmacological compounds based inhibition of PI3K/Akt pathway to inhibit tumor invasion and migration, iii). Therapeutical interventions using tumor metastasis suppressor genes in preclinical trial settings, iv). Establishment of novel real-time 3D quantifiable metastatic tumor models to investigate tumor metastasis dynamics and evaluate therapeutical efficacy, v). Utilization of high-throughput proteomic analysis for the identification of novel tumor metastasis mTargeting tumor growth/survival pathways to enhance tumor chemosensitivity and/or radiosensitivity.
III. Establishing nanoparticle-mediated high-throughput transfection platforms to identify and characterize novel gene expression functional consequences.
IV. Investigating the target-specific next generation nanoparticles for theranostics evaluation and suppression mechanism elucidation in in-situ malignant tumors.
