Former president of the Polish Cardiac Society and the European Society of Cardiology (2004-2006), visiting professor at Beograd (Yugoslavia) and Bern (Switzerland). Head Dept of Cardiology of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice 1995-2014. Now half-time employment at the same university. Full member of the Polish society of Sciences (Warsaw) and Polish Society of Sciences and Arts (Krakow). Main scientific interest - ischemic heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, stem cell therapy of the heart.
