Dr. Md. Mahmudul Alam is a Professor of Finance at BRAC Business School and a senior research fellow at the Economic and Financial Policy Institute in Universiti Utara Malaysia. He also holds associate fellowships at University Technology MARA (Malaysia), Universitas Brawijaya (Indonesia), Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (Indonesia), and Centre for Asian Climate and Environmental Policy Studies (Canada). He is a Registered Financial Planner with the Malaysian Financial Planning Council, and a Certified Expert in Climate Adaptation Finance from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He earned his PhD from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and completed postdoctoral research under the Adaptation Finance Fellowship Programme (AFFP), a joint initiative of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and Thailand Development Research Institute. He has more than 300 publications, including seven books and more than 200 journal articles. He serves on the editorial boards of over 30 international journals and is a reviewer of more than 50 journals. He has a readership of over two million on various online platforms, ranking him among the top 1% most-read academic scholars globally. He is honored to be included in the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide by Stanford University, with over 5,000 SCOPUS citations and an h-index of 32. He is also recognized as the top researcher in Bangladesh in the field of ‘Accounting & Finance’ according to the AD Scientific Index, based on Google Scholar metrics, where his h-index is 56 and citations exceed 14,000. He has received several awards from Elsevier, Emerald, Wiley, and Web of Science, and was named one of the Top Bangladesh Development Researchers of the Millennium by the BDRC (USA). He has been an associate fellow at International Islamic University Chittagong (Bangladesh) and a visiting professor at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia), Universitas Airlangga (Indonesia), Universitas Brawijaya (Indonesia), Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (Indonesia), University of Merdeka Malang (Indonesia), Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (Indonesia), Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa (Indonesia), Tishk International University (Iraq), and Prince of Songkla University (Thailand). His research interests include financial markets, financial literacy, Islamic finance, sustainable finance, and sustainable development.
