The work I have been developing since the cradle of my research has spanned several areas mainly related to clinical medicine that have in common the existence of inflammatory and / or oxidative stress in their pathophysiological mechanisms. In my scientific research I would like to highlight some work done in the areas of pre-eclampsia, chronic kidney disease and obesity. Are actually different clinical areas, but have in common the change in cardiovascular risk factors, including inflammatory parameters (mainly acute phase proteins, adipokines, cell adhesion molecules and endothelial dysfunction markers), dyslipidemia (pro – inflammatory states) and insulin resistance. It should be noted that all these areas were already covered with the allocation of funding for research projects by institutions of recognized merit (FCT, among others).
