He holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the State University of Campinas, a master's degree in Functional and Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (2000) and a PhD in Functional and Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (2003). Lecturer in Chemistry at Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho (2011). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho - Campus Sorocaba in the Environmental Engineering course and in the Postgraduate Programs in Environmental Sciences (master's/Doctoral) and Postgraduate Programs in Materials Science and Technology (master's/PhD) ). He has scientific collaboration with several research groups from different national institutions (Unicamp, UEL, UFLA, Embrapa, Unipampa, Uniso, USP, UFSCar, etc.) India, Mexico, Canada, USA among others). He is currently part of the editorial board of the following journals: Scientific reports (Nature group), PLOS One, Frontiers in Chemistry, Ecology, Energy and Environment (Springer), Journal of Bionanotechnology (Springer Nature), as well as reviewer of several scientific journals. Over the years, it has obtained financial support with the participation of other researchers and institutions (research support, coming from a researcher from abroad, visits abroad, bilateral cooperation research projects), as well as scholarships from various funding agencies (CNPq, CAPES, FAPESP) and companies. He is a member of the Brazilian Society for the Progress of Science (SBPC), Brazilian Chemical Society (SBQ), Brazilian Material Research Society (SBPmat), American Chemical Society (ACS), ASTOXILATIN - Latin American Association of Environmental, Experimental and NanomaterialsToxicology Association, American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the latter being a Fellow (FRSC - 2018).He is also a Fellow of Vebleo and a member of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC - 2018 - current). He is currently Chair of the American Chemical Society Brazil Chapter (2022-current management) and was co-chair (2019-2021 management) and member of the Board of Directors (Treasurer) of the American Chemical Society Brazil Chapter (2018-2019 management). Member of the Agroecosystem Specialist Group of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN-CEM). Member of the European Science Foundation College of Expert Reviewers (2020). Associate Member of the Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (TISED - McGill University - 2021). It has 15 patent applications and 1 software registration, 4 patent letters and 1 licensed technology. Among the awards received in 2004 and 2005 the José Carlos Ferraro Maia Award promoted by Cristalia Ind. Farmaceuticas and SBA, in 2010 second place in the Monsanto Agroambiental Award, in 2011 he received the Química Nova Award for Young Authors from SBQ, in 2020 he received the IAAM Scientist Award and in 2021 he received the Minds of Innovation Award - Bayer. In 2021, he received the award of the Commendation of Merit in Education by the Municipality of Sorocaba. Has experience in Chemistry and Biochemistry, with emphasis on Macromolecule Chemistry, working mainly on the following topics: nanobiotechnology, carrier systems (cyclodextrins, micro and nanoparticles) for bioactive compounds (synthetic or natural), environmental nanotechnology and its applications in the environment and agriculture.
