I am an evolutionary ecologist interested in how ecological and evolutionary processes shape animal behavior, life histories, and host–parasite interactions. His early work focused on comparative methods, sexual selection, and the evolutionary ecology of parasites. More recently, my research has turned toward invasive mosquito species as emerging vectors of human pathogens, where I integrate evolutionary ecology with public health applications. I lead the Mosquito Monitor program in Hungary, which combines professional expertise and citizen science to track invasive mosquito populations. Through these efforts, I aim to connect fundamental science with real-world solutions to mitigate the risks of vector-borne diseases. I am the general director of the HUN-REN Centre for Ecological Research.
