简介

I am a core surgical trainee / honorary research fellow within South-East Scotland. My PhD was in data science and implementation science, with a focus on surgical innovation. I have held a number of national roles, most recently my appointment as the Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) Innovation Lead and to the pan-specialty, pan-Royal College robotic and digital surgery trainees committee (RaDiST). I aim to revolutionise surgical care globally through translating the potential of technology and data science to improving surgical care for patients. My research interests include large-scale collaborative research; pragmatic clinical trials; machine learning; digital transformation of healthcare; global health; and patient-reported outcomes. I also have a national profile in supporting engagement in clinical academia, both directly through development of novel research and innovation skills courses, but also advocating on a national level to improve access to opportunities for students and resident doctors to explore these.
