Karen Tapia is an architect, having graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. She holds a Master's degree in Urban Planning from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She is a researcher at the Center for Research on Architecture and the City (CIAC) and has worked as a teacher assitant in the Faculty of Architecture at PUCP. She has coordinated projects for the Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation (Peru), implementing public space pilot projects with local governments, participating in the creation of Public Space Guidelines, and contributing to the modification of regulations regarding Urban Design Components at the national level. She is also the president of Learning Landscapes, a non-profit and volunteer based organization that carries out urban interventions focused on nature and children. Currently, she works for the National Program for Educational Infrastructure (PRONIED) of the Ministry of Education of Peru.
