简介

For over 20 years I have been heading large-scale aging and twin studies in Denmark with a focus on life course studies of health, taking advantage of the unique data resources in Denmark. I have a longstanding interest in sex differences in health and survival as well as in the relation between early life events and later life health outcome. I am engaged in interdisciplinary aging research combining methods from epidemiology, genetics and demography. For the last decade I have been heading both the Danish Twin Registry and The Danish Aging Research Center, and I am co-PI on the international NIA U01 research program “Long Life Family Study”.
