Joshua O. Ighalo is an Assistant Professor at the James P. Keeter School of Engineering, College of the Ozarks. He defended his Ph.D. in chemical engineering at Kansas State University, in April 2026. His research is in heterogeneous catalysis, nanomaterials design, clean energy, and environmental sustainability. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Benin, Nigeria, and his master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He is the recipient of the Department of Energy (DOE) Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) award, William H & Virginia Honstead graduate fellowship award, Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry (KSIEC) most influential paper award, K. F. Antia memorial prize from the Indian Institute of Engineers, Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) top reviewer award, and the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) scholarship award. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), American Chemical Society (ACS), and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He has co-authored over 240 peer-reviewed papers in Scopus-indexed journals and has published 3 edited books (with Elsevier B.V. and Springer Nature). He currently serves as an academic editor for Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio), PLOS Water (PLOS), and on the advisory board of Advances in Materials Science and Engineering (Wiley Online Library).,
