Graduated in Forest Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM, 2013). She has academic and professional experience in the area of environmental and forestry licensing and inspection. In 2014, she started her master's degree in the Environmental Engineering program at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). The Master's area of concentration was Environmental Sanitation and Water Resources. The theme of the dissertation was to transform the residues of the peanut production chain (shells) into adsorbent with high porosity, through the application of different modification methods, for later use in the removal of dyes widely used in the textile industry sector. The doctorate was carried out in the Postgraduate Program in Civil Engineering at UFSM, following the same area of concentration as the master's. However, in the doctorate, adsorbents were developed through forestry and agro-industrial residues for the removal of textile dyes from the water.
Since 2019, she has been a postdoctoral student in the Civil Engineering Program at UFSM, developing several studies aimed at removing emerging pollutants, such as pesticides, herbicides and drugs, from water. In this sense, several plant materials, including forest residues, have already been studied and applied as potential adsorbents in the removal of toxic contaminants for living organisms and present in water resources. Also as a post-doctoral student, she taught disciplines aimed at masters and doctoral students, namely: wood chemistry, special topics in adsorption applied to wastewater treatment and writing and publishing scientific articles. This last discipline was created due to the experience in publications with a high impact factor of the postdoctoral student, and the difficulty of new academics of the postgraduate programs in civil and environmental engineering with scientific writing.
In the year 2020, she managed to raise financial resources through the approval of the project submitted to FAPERGS' newly doctoral grant edict. Project linked to the transformation of plant biomass of invasive species into adsorbents for the removal of pesticides and herbicides from the water.
