Dr. Jin-Lin Zhang obtained his bachelor and master degrees in agronomy and crop genetics and breeding from Gansu Agricultural University, China, in 2000 and 2003, respectively. Then, he has been working at Lanzhou University by now, where he obtained his PhD in pratacultural science in 2008 and has remained as an assistant (2003), lecturer (2006), associate professor (2009), professor (2013), and “Cuiying Scholars” distinguished professor (2020). He had been to Prof. Timothy Flowers’ Lab at the University of Sussex in the UK as a visiting scholar for nine months in 2006 and 2007, Prof. Paul Paré’s Lab at Texas Tech University in the USA as a postdoc for 12 months in 2010 and 2011, and Prof. Yiwei Jiang’s Lab at Purdue University in the USA as a visiting scholar for 18 months in 2017 and 2018. Currently, Dr. Jinlin Zhang is focusing his interest on plant abiotic stress physiology and molecular biology, and plant-microbe interaction for plant stress tolerance. By now, he has published over 200 papers, over 100 of them on international journals like Nature Communicaitons, PNAS, Plant Physiology, Plant Journal, Plant Cell and Environment, Bioresource Technology, Agriculture, Ecosystems and Environment, Journal of Agricultural Food and Chemistry, Plant and Soil, and Industrial Crops and Products etc.. His papers have been cited more than 4900 times at Web of Science with an h index of 40. He has been invited to present his research works as keynote speakers in international conferences held in Australia, Germany, Portugal, Spain, South Korea, Qtar, Pakistan, Canada, UK and China 30 times over last 15 years. Now, Professor Jinlin Zhang serves as editors of several international journals including Plant and Soil, Rhizosphere, Advances in Agriculture, and Grass Research, and as reviewers of Trends in Plant Science, Cell Host & Microbe, New Phytologist, Plant Biotechnology Journal, Biotechnology Advances, Plant Physiology, Plant Journal, Plant, Cell & Environment, Journal of Integrative Plant Biology, Agriculture, Ecosystems and Environment, Geoderma, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Industrial Crops and Products, and Microbiological Research etc..
