Jason Nielsen is Professor in the Physics Department and Director of the Santa Cruz Institute for Particle Physics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is active in measurements of the Higgs boson and searches for new physics beyond the Standard Model with the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Nielsen is also active in physics studies and ATLAS detector development for the High-Luminosity LHC project. In this area, he has made contributions to the readout electronics for the silicon pixel detector, studies of high-energy WW boson scattering, and development of simulation and reconstruction software. He is a participant in design studies for experiments at future Higgs factories.
