I obtained my MB ChB degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria, and completed my residency training at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex in Ile-Ife, Nigeria. There, I earned my Fellowship with the West African College of Physicians in Paediatrics and Child Health. I also underwent clinical training in Paediatric Gastroenterology at Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board, Singleton Hospital in Swansea, United Kingdom, followed by postgraduate training in Paediatric Gastroenterology at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. I hold a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. I am the recipient of several grants, including the British Society of Gastroenterology educational grant, the FrieslandCampina Nutrition Interventional Trial grant, and the Rome Foundation International Research Award. Currently, I am a Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health and serve as an Honorary Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist/Nutritionist. My primary focus is on improving the care and management of gastrointestinal and nutritional disorders in children. My research interests encompass anthropometrics, body composition, childhood obesity, diarrhoeal diseases, and abdominal pain, and I have published numerous scientific articles in reputable local and international peer-reviewed journals. I developed an e-learning module aimed at enhancing the management of acute diarrhoeal disease, which is widely utilized by students and healthcare practitioners across sub-Saharan Africa. I aspire to further characterize the specialty interests of paediatric residents in Nigeria and to foster a greater interest in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.
