I. M. Pinto

Innocenzo M. Pinto was born and educated in Italy. He graduated in Electrical Engineering (cum laude) in 1976. In 1983 he became an Assistant Professor of Electromagnetics; an Associate Professor in 1987, and a full Professor in 1990. He held permanent positions in the Universities of Naples, Salerno, Sannio at Benevento and Catania. His research interests include Electromagnetic Wave Propagation and Diffraction, Gravitational Wave Experiments and Detectors, and Applied Mathematics. A Senior Member of the IEEE and URSI, he has been elected Fellow of the OSA (2018) “For fundamental contributions to thermal noise reduction in the mirror coatings of the LIGO interferometric gravitational wave detectors, and for original contributions to the science of Electromagnetics”.
