I.B. Obot

IME BASSEY OBOT, is currently an Associate Professor at the Center of Research Excellence in Corrosion, Research Institute, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He earned a Ph.D in Physical Chemistry (Majoring in Corrosion Science and Computational Chemistry) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 2012. He has undergone a post doctoral mentorship with Professor Digby D. Macdonald, Chair Professor, Center of Research Excellence in Corrosion, KFUPM and Professor Emeritus of Material Science and Engineering, University of California at Berkeley, USA. Prof. Obot has published over 200 articles and several critical reviews in International Journals with high Impact Factors. He has Edited a book and also published several book chapters. He has several invention disclosures (PATENTS) in the area of Corrosion in the Oil and Gas Industry. Prof. Obot main research interest include: Corrosion in Oil and Gas Industry (Acid corrosion, CO2 corrosion, Sour Corrosion and Microbial Corrosion), Corrosion in the Chemical and Petrochemical Industry, Corrosion in the Refinery, Corrosion in Cooling Waters, Marine Corrosion, Scale Mechanism/Mitigation and Corrosion in Desalination Plants.
