Hys Ngan

Professor Hextan Yuen Sheung Ngan graduated in the University of Hong Kong in 1978. She obtained MD in 1995 and FRCOG in 1996 and has been a gynaecological oncologist accredited by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) since 1993. Professor Ngan has a vast experience in open, laparoscopic and robot-assisted cancer surgery. Her research interest is in biomolecular studies, cancer screening, clinical trials and psychosocial studies in gynaecological oncology. Professor Ngan is the past president of the Hong Kong College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (HKCOG), past president of the Asia Oceania Research Organization of Genital Infections & Neoplasia (AOGIN), past Chair of the FIGO Gynecology Oncology Committee, and currently the President of the Family Planning Association of Hong Kong. She was the Head of Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (1/2009-6/2021), the University of Hong Kong, and had been endowed with Tsao Yin-Kai Professorship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2009 (1/2009-6/2021). Professor Ngan was also the head of the gynaecological oncology team and laboratory of the Department of OG, University of Hong Kong (2003-2020) and Chair of Specialty for Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Gleneagles Hong Kong Hospital Limited (6/2015-6/2021). She is the Chief of Service in Obstetrics & Gynaecology of the University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital since 7/2012.
