Professor Hussam Jouhara FREng
Chair of Thermal Engineering | Vice Dean for Research | Brunel University London and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
He is the Founder and Head of the Heat Pipe and Thermal Management Research Group, leading pioneering work in advanced thermal systems and energy efficiency.
He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester in 2004 and holds Chartered Engineer and Fellow status with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (UK), Chartered Institute of Building Services (CIBSE) and Engineers Ireland. His career spans academia and industry, including leadership roles in developing innovative heat pipe heat exchanger technologies.

Energy-efficient thermal systems and regenerators
Advanced heat exchangers for low to ultra-high temperatures (-170°C to 1500°C)
His work has delivered over 31 industrial heat exchanger innovations, enabling significant energy savings in sectors such as steel, aluminium, ceramics, and food processing. These technologies are now deployed globally.
