Fernando Cendes

Fernando Cendes, MD, PhD, FAAN, FAES He is a Full Professor in the Department of Neurology at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, and the Coordinator of the Epilepsy Surgery Program at UNICAMP. He is board-certified in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Diagnostic Neuroradiology. Dr. Cendes is a former EEG (1989) and Epilepsy Fellow (1991-1997) at the Montreal Neurological Institute and received his Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience at McGill University, Canada, in 1996. He supervised 80 graduate students and 28 post-doctoral fellows in addition to his teaching activities with medical students and residents. He served as Chair (2009-2013) and Treasurer (2013-2017) of the Diagnostic Methods Commission of the ILAE and on several other ILAE commissions and task forces. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Epilepsia.
