Dr. Eva Feldman is the Russell N. DeJong Professor of Neurology at the University of Michigan (U-M). She runs her own 30-scientist laboratory, the NeuroNetwork for Emerging Therapies (www.mneuronet.org), and is a leader in the fields of diabetic neuropathy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and Alzheimer’s disease. She led the first Phase I and II clinical trials of intraspinal stem cell transplantation in ALS subjects in the USA, and is the Principle Investigator (PI) or co-PI of multiple NIH and foundation grants. Dr. Feldman has an h-index of 82, and has published over 440 original peer-reviewed articles, 70 chapters, and 4 books. Dr. Feldman is Past President of the Peripheral Nerve Society (PNS) and the American Neurological Association (ANA). Among her greatest accomplishments is her training of both scientists and neurologists. Nine scientists have received Ph.D. degrees under her supervision, and she has trained over 100 postdoctoral fellows and neurologists to specialize in understanding and treating neurological diseases, with an emphasis on ALS and neuropathy. Her numerous honors include both the Early and Distinguished Career Development Awards from U-M and being an elected member of the Association of American Physicians and National Academy of Medicine. She also received the 2016 Castle Connolly National Clinician of the Year award, the 2017 Endocrine Society Gerald D. Aurbach Award for Outstanding Translational Research, and the 2019 PNS Alan J. Gebhart Prize for Excellence in Peripheral Nerve Research, and was named a 2018 Honorary Fellow of the ANA.
