Enriqueta Felip is Head of the Thoracic Cancer Group within the Oncology Department of the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, Barcelona, Spain, and is also Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Enriqueta Felip received her medical degree from the UAB, where she also completed her PhD studies in medical oncology. Professor Felip is in charge of lung cancer management, and is responsible for lung cancer trials undertaken by the Oncology Department. Current research lines include the optimization of chemotherapy in early-stage disease, evaluation of new drugs, and the use of pharmacogenomic approaches.
She is currently a member of the Spanish Lung Cancer Group (Grupo Español de Cáncer de Pulmón; GECP), the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (Sociedad Española de Oncología Medíca; SEOM), the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC). She is a member of the Scientific Executive Committee of the National Lung Cancer Partnership, and is also the coordinator of lung cancer program of the European School of Oncology (ESO). She is author of many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters relating to the field of lung cancer.
Dr. Enriqueta Felip’s strategic goals are:
- Optimization of multidisciplinary treatment in patients with stage I-III cancer Advance personalized medicine for lung cancer patients through translational research.
- Contribute to early drug development and matched therapies for thoracic tumors.
- Optimize novel treatment approaches (immunotherapy) for the management of patients with thoracic malignancies.
- Active intervention in the fight against smoking.
Her current objectives are:
- Implement the determination ALK translocationStudy the efficacy of PI3K/mTOR inhibitors in patients with lung cancer resistant to EGFRTKIs.
- Study the efficacy of PARP inhibitors in lung cancer.
- Analyze the epidemiologic/clinical characteristics of women diagnosed with lung cancer.
- Play an active role in organizing a European consensus meeting on lung cancer
