E. T. Kang obtained his Ph.D. from State University of New York at Buffalo in 1983. He is currently an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS), and a Professor in the School of Materials & Energy at Southwest University in Chongqing, China. He was a Professor in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at NUS from Jan-2000 to Jun-2022. His research interests include surface functionalization via molecular design, molecular/polymer electronics, polymers in nanoscience and biomolecular engineering and polymers for environmentally-benign applications. He received the National Young Scientist and Engineer Award in 1989 and National Science Award of Singapore in 1996. He was an Associate Editor for the journal ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces (2010-2020), and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of several international journals.
