达尼埃莱·阿基布吉

Daniele Archibugi is Full Professor at the Universitas Mercatorum in Rome and Professor of Innovation, Governance and Public Policy at the University of London, Birkbeck College, Birkbeck Business School. He has spent many years at the Italian National Research Council, where he is currently Research Associate at the Institute on Population and Social Policy (IRPPS-CNR). He has graduated in Economics at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” under the supervision of Federico Caffè and taken his D.Phil. at the SPRU, University of Sussex where he has worked with Chris Freeman and Keith Pavitt He has started his carrier at the Institute for studies on scientific research and documentation of the CNR directed by Paolo Bisogno. He has worked and taught at the Universities of Sussex, Naples, Cambridge, Rome Sapienza, Rome LUISS, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, London School of Economics and Political Science and Harvard. He has been Visiting Professor in a variety of Universities, including the University of California at Santa Barbara, the Universidad de Buenos Aires and the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. He has also held courses in Asian Universities such as the Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto and the SWEFE University, Chengdu. In June 2006 he was appointed Honorary Professor at the University of Sussex and in June 2016 honorary member of the Research Network on Innovation. He is an adviser to the European Union, the Council of Europe, the OECD, several UN agencies and various national governments. He has led many research projects for the European Commission and other international organisations. For the European Commission, he has chaired the Expert Group on A Wide Opening of the European Research Area to the World, he has been a member of the Expert Group of the European Commission Global Europe 2030/2050 and he has coordinated the Report The Contribution of the European Commission to Responsible Research and Innovation. Together with Emanuela Reale and Fabrizio Tuzi, he coordinates the periodic Report on Research and Innovation in Italy of the National Research Council. He has led the research project titled Globalization: Economic, Technological and Poltical Determinants and Impact, which includes two distinct lines of research: Global governance and cosmopolitan democracy; and Globalization of innovation in science and technology at IRPPS-CNR, where he acted as Director from July 2018 to June 2020.
