Dr. Anagnostopoulos is Chief Scientific Director of THERACELL LABORATORIEs.
He is the past Director and Head of the Haematology Department at the George Papanicolaou Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece (1987-2021). The Department includes a Haemopoietic Cell Bone Transplantation Unit, certified by JACIE, a Gene and Cell Therapy Centre, a public Cord Blood Bank and various specialized labs.
Dr. Anagnostopoulos studied medicine and then obtained a specialty in Haematology in Thessaloniki (1986). He received post-graduate training in Haemopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and molecular biology techniques at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College, in London (1989-1990). He has an extensive and internationally recognized publication and research track record.

Member of the inaugural Board of Directors of the National Transplantations Organization (2000- 2004, 2010-2018)
Vice-President of the inaugural Board of Directors of Papageorgiou Hospital (1997-2004)
Contributed to the implementation of the National Health System in his role as President of the Medical Association of Hospital Physicians of Macedonia, Thrace and Thessaly
Dr. Anagnostopoulos has played an important role towards the successful operation and further development of Papageorgiou Hospital, the increase of transplantations in Greece and the education of citizens on the topic of Cord Blood Banks. In September 2000, he led the team that performed the first two Haematopoietic Cell Transplantations in Skopje, North Macedonia.
He contributed to the creation of the Platelet Volunteer Donor Network. He published the "Family Medical Guide" (6000 copies, 700 pages, 132 authors), distributed free-of-charge to citizens, libraries, universities, municipalities etc.
