Dr. Chi Hwan Lee is the Lesli A. Geddes Professor at Purdue University, holding positions in both the Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering departments and contributing to Materials Engineering by courtesy. After earning a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University under the guidance of Professor Xiaolin Zheng, Dr. Lee continued his research journey at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a postdoctoral assistant with Professor John A. Rogers before joining Purdue University in 2015. Drawing upon his expertise, he has spearheaded innovative wearable devices that address clinical needs with simplicity and effectiveness. He has been recognized for his efforts with awards, including the 2021 Sensors Young Investigator Award, 2020 Purdue CoE Early Career Research Award, and 2019 NIH Trailblazer Award. Dr. Lee has published over 80 journal papers and 5 book chapters, secured 6 U.S. patents, filed 11 utility patents, co-founded 4 startup companies, and spearheaded efforts to secure over $36M in research funding.
