Boris F. Minaev

B.P. Minaev was born in 1943 in Sverdlovsk. He lived with his parents in Novgorod (1949–1953), Semipalatinsk (1953), Alma-Ata (1953–1957), and Karaganda (1957–1962). He studied at Tomsk State University (TSU) in the Physics Department (1962–1967) and completed his postgraduate studies at TSU in the Optics and Spectroscopy Department (1967–1971). He worked as a junior research fellow at the Kuznetsov Siberian Physicotechnical Institute and as a junior research fellow in the Organic Chemistry Department at TSU (1971–1974). He defended his PhD dissertation in optics and spectroscopy at TSU in 1974. In 1974-1989 he worked at the Karaganda State University as an associate professor and full professor. In 1984, B.P. Minaev defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Chemical Sciences in physical chemistry "Theoretical analysis and prediction of the effects of spin-orbit coupling in molecular spectroscopy and chemical kinetics" without writing the manuscript (based on the abstract). From 1989 to the present, B.P. Minaev has been working in Cherkassy (Ukraine): at the Cherkasy State Technological University (1989-2007) and at the Bohdan Khmelnitsky National University (since 2007). He headed the chemistry departments, lectured on physical, organic and quantum chemistry, molecular spectroscopy, molecular electronics and biochemistry. For about 20 years he worked in Sweden (Linköping University, Royal Institute of Technology); In 2005-2006 he worked at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, and in 2015-2016 at the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing.
