Proactive researcher and data scientist with 20+ years of multidisciplinary expertise in public and global health, epidemiology of non-communicable disease, nephrology. Extensive experience in data management and data visualization, advanced statistical analysis of quantitative data (both real-world evidence and clinical trials) and surveys, creation and maintenance of scientific software tools. Highly skilled in various computer languages and applications, including R, SQL, large-scale databases. Proficient in information synthesis, scientific medical writing, critical appraisal of research output, problem solving, grant proposals writing and evaluation. Authored more than 100 publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals (The Lancet, Nature, etc) cited by 80,000+ peers, numerous internal reports and presentations.
I am a researcher in global health and epidemiology of non-communicable diseases with extensive experience in international collaborative projects and large-scale health data systems. My research interests include kidney and cardiovascular diseases, social determinants of health, and health care access and quality.
I have over 15 years of experience coordinating nationwide registries collecting data from more than 400 facilities of renal replacement therapy (dialysis and kidney transplantation), providing complex information for approximately 40,000 patients annually. I also coordinated a city-level nephrology registry managing data for nearly 35,000 patients with kidney diseases. My work included strategic leadership, data curation, software development, data harmonization, quality control, and analysis of large-scale epidemiological datasets. During this activity I designed, developed, and supported registry systems for accounting information at both facility and patient levels. I also constructed and updated data vocabularies, performed data quality control, and coordinated data merge from multiple heterogeneous sources. I set the priorities in the registry work, managed the registry team, performed analysis of collected information, communicated and presented results in scientific meetings, journal publications, and biannual registry reports.
I have been actively involved in international collaborations, including the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study. As part of this work, I developed bibliographic and epidemiological information systems for managing approximately 35,000 data sources and co-authored multiple publications presenting global health estimates.
I have more than a decade of academic teaching experience, including a position as Associate Professor. I have extensive experience in grant writing and evaluation, journal peer review, and academic editorial work. I also have strong programming and data science skills, including advanced use of R for statistical analysis of clinical, administrative, and epidemiological data.
