简介

Vu Thanh Binh is currently a Doctor in Biomedical Engineering at the International University, Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCMC). He possesses a solid academic foundation with a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and a Master of Science in Animal Physiology from the University of Science, VNU-HCMC. Throughout his career, Binh has gained significant international research experience, having participated in the Summer School at the University of Tsukuba (Japan) and completed the Cancer Cell Signaling Course at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2013. Notably, from 2016 to 2017, he served as a Visiting Graduate Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he focused on the chicken chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) assay as an in vivo model for characterizing tumor-accumulating nanoparticles. Currently, his primary research orientation centers on 3D bioprinting and bio-ink development for multilayer scaffolds in osteochondral regeneration. His studies involve the fabrication of in situ crosslinking natural polymer–based hydrogels—such as alginate, N,O-carboxymethyl chitosan, and aldehyde hyaluronic acid—to facilitate tissue regeneration. Additionally, his work extends to immunotherapy in cancer treatment and stem cell-based regenerative medicine. Vu Thanh Binh has achieved notable recognition for his contributions, including the "Young Researcher of the Year" award at LEAP 2025, a Certificate of Merit for "Outstanding Publication" (2024) from VNU-HCMC, and the PhD Training Scholarship from the Vingroup Innovation Foundation.
